Lucas Peterson is an attorney for Greer, Burns & Crain in the Chicago, Illinois office, focusing on patent prosecution and anti-counterfeiting.
Mr. Peterson earned his J.D. from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, with a certificate in intellectual property law. During law school, Mr. Peterson became a registered patent agent, assisted the IU McKinney Intellectual property Clinic in drafting patent applications and performing trademark searches, and began working for a Chicago-based law firm in patent prosecution.
Prior to law school, Mr. Peterson earned a B.S. degree in Aerospace Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, AZ, with a minor in Business Administration. While an undergraduate student, he assisted in research comprising aerodynamic analyses of wing suits and software development in improvements to computational fluid dynamics.
Mr. Peterson began working as a software engineer after his undergraduate studies developing aerodynamic models for high-level, full motion flight simulators. He later worked in software development for FADECs on aircraft turbine engines and propulsion systems for next-generation electric vehicles before moving into the legal profession.
